Hooper Report - Update (May 2010)
The Queen's Speech on 25th May 2010 included an announcement that the Government will bring forward legislation relating to Royal Mail, which will include 'measures to resolve the problems surrounding Royal Mail's pensions deficit'. The Queen's Speech provided no detail on what may be planned and the legislation itself will have to go through various stages in Parliament.
On 24th June 2010, Business Secretary Vince Cable announced that Richard Hooper will be updating his December 2008 Report. He will let Ministers have his initil views in the summer and will publish a fuller update by early Autumn.
