The Trustee Company
The Trustee of the Plan holds around £27 billion on behalf of beneficiaries.
Royal Mail Pensions Trustees Limited (RMPTL) is a trustee company (also sometimes known as a corporate trustee) which has legal responsibilities. The Directors of RMPTL are required to act in the same way as individual trustees would.
There are 11 Trustee Directors: five are nominated by Royal Mail Group, four are nominated by the unions, one is elected by a ballot of pensioners and the Chair is an independent trustee, who is appointed by Royal Mail with the agreement of the unions.
