When will my preserved pension start to be paid to me?

Your preserved pension will typically start to be paid when you reach Normal Retiring Age; age 60 for the part of your pension based on your pensionable service before 1 April 2010 and age 65 for the part of your pension earned for your pensionable service after 31 March 2010.

You may be able to take your preserved pension before Normal Retiring Age.

Unless the pension is paid as a result of ill health or on compassionate grounds it will be reduced to reflect the longer payment period.

Further details are shown in the Guide to benefits.
