Why has tax been deducted from my pension?
When your pension comes into payment, the Pensions Service Centre will tell HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) that you are now getting a pension from the RMSPS (and, if applicable, from the RMPP). You may have to pay tax on your pension(s) depending on your circumstances and your tax code. Until HMRC notify the Pensions Service Centre of your tax code, you may be taxed using an emergency code. Once your new tax code is received, any adjustment to income tax already paid in the tax year will usually be applied to your next pension payment.
